Safety and security at Weekend in the Woods Festival

We’re very excited for you to join us this summer, and want you and your friends to have the best adventure ever.

We want you to know that your safety and wellbeing is our number one priority. If you see something that doesn’t feel right, we want to hear from you. Let us decide if what you have seen or what you know is important.

It’s incredibly important that everyone feels safe and joins together as a big community. Read below for info on how we help keep you safe while you’re at the festival, and also check our Welfare page for more info on your personal and family wellbeing.

Safety and Security

We work closely with the Police and other organisations and have a range of measures in place to ensure your safety and security. These include our highly trained security personnel, bag searches, sniffer dogs and extensive CCTV across the entire Wold Farm site – as well as other measures that may not be visible.

Our Safety and Security Teams

Our highly trained teams of stewards and security staff work alongside the emergency services and event organisers – so if you see anything you think may be suspicious, please do not hesitate to find someone to help.

All stewards and security staff are able to communicate, via their supervisors, to the Event Control Room, as well as the police, via radio and other channels. Our Event Control Room also has access to extensive CCTV to help keep you safe.

Our stewards and security staff are aware that not everyone is familiar with the festival layout, so will be keeping their eyes open for anyone who may need some assistance or directions. They may even approach you to offer help if they think you may need it or are lost – so don’t be surprised if they pop up to say hello!

You can expect to see many members of the police force in and around the festival. There’s no need to be concerned about the police presence – they are there to help you feel safe and to support us in delivering a secure and successful event.

Festival Entry – passing through security

Because of the measures we have in place at all entrances, festival-goers need to allow extra time to pass through our security arrangements where searches may also take place. You can help this process go more smoothly and avoid delays by ensuring you don’t have any prohibited items with you and complying with any instructions the search teams may give you.
